Stephen A. Smith knocks Crockett over Trump criticism: 'Is that gonna help your district?’

Stephen A. Smith criticized Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) for her harsh words about President Trump, questioning how this benefits her constituents.

“Jasmine Crockett decided to voice her opinion. But is that really helping the Texas district?” the ESPN commentator remarked during Wednesday’s episode of “Straight Shooter with Stephen A. Smith.”

“Is your goal to facilitate progress, rather than obstruct what Trump is trying to accomplish?” he added. “How much effort does that take? Just kicking Trump out every chance you get isn’t effective.”

Crockett has been vocal against Trump due to both his actions during his presidency and his personal behavior, having faced humiliation from him multiple times.

In late September, Trump described her as having “low IQ” and expressed disbelief that she holds a position in Congress.

He made similar remarks back in August, saying, “They’re self-destructive, the Democrats,” while mentioning Crockett in a CNBC interview and questioning if she had any ties to the legendary Davy Crockett.

Recently, Crockett spoke out against the administration on “MSNBC Live,” urging the public not to back down from bullies.

“I want Americans to realize that standing up to bullies leads to victory,” she stated. “Don’t yield. If we let them threaten us, there won’t be any democracy left.”

She often contests the actions of the current administration, asserting the government shutdown is primarily the Republicans’ responsibility.

“Fact: Republicans control the House, Senate, and the White House… If there’s a shutdown, the real numbers indicate it’s a Republican shutdown,” she wrote.
