Stephen A. Smith Criticizes Jasmine Crockett For Her Opposition To Trump On All Issues

On Monday, ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith criticized Democrat Jasmine Crockett for her ongoing resistance to President Donald Trump. Crockett had previously acknowledged in March that her focus on opposing Trump took precedence over legislative progress. Smith argued that this perspective might hinder the essential duty of governance.

He questioned, “When I hear Jasmine Crockett say, ‘I’m against everything Trump’, isn’t there a responsibility to present some legislation?” He added that if your party holds the presidency, the aim should be to work collaboratively to achieve desired outcomes.

Crockett responded in a discussion on “Lonely Star Politics”, indicating she is more focused on preventing setbacks than making forward strides. “I admit that I haven’t done much to push a progressive agenda,” she stated. “My priority now is to minimize any regressive moves and to ensure my district appreciates my honesty.”

Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer also commented in March on “Morning Joe”, suggesting that Democrats aimed to diminish the president’s popularity. Polls indicate that nearly two-thirds of Democrats prefer to avoid any compromise with Trump, which could potentially stall bipartisan progress.

Former Clinton pollster Mark Penn pointed out that Democrats are often viewed as excessively partisan and extreme on some issues. “They’re perceived as out of touch on certain policies, and they often disregard attempts to collaborate with the president,” he remarked.

Additionally, recent research noted that Democrats are experiencing historically low approval ratings, with figures around 27% to 29%. While Trump enjoys significant public support for policies like restricting biological males from women’s sports, deporting illegal immigrants, and cutting government waste, Democrats seem to adopt less favorable positions on these topics.
