Stephen A. Smith was too preoccupied with his own wardrobe to come up with an NFC Super Bowl contender on the spot.
On Thursday’s “First Take,” a group that included Smith, Damian Woody and Kimberly Martin selected the players they think will represent the NFC in February’s big game.
Woody and Martin both chose the Eagles, and Smith said he intended to choose the Eagles, but had been feeling “uneasy” about sticking with the Eagles in recent weeks.
Host Molly Kerim asked Smith for an answer on who he would choose, but Smith wasn’t in the right frame of mind to go there.
“Thank you for letting me know on TV. Maybe you’ll let me know when the show ends,” she laughed.
Smith admitted he had his mind on other topics.
“I’ll be honest, I’m pretty focused on how good I look,” he said.
Martin and Woody say his suit looks nice, and Kerim wants to see his pocket square.
“I’m a little distracted by how smooth I look, but that just shows hatred. [Qerim] “You don’t give me love,” he said.
When Kerim asked him to stop talking to compliment him, he replied: Do it as much as you talk. It’s almost here. ”
Ms Kerim defended her saying that sometimes issues on the show need to be “addressed immediately”, calling Ms Smith BS and asking if it was true that she was calling “just to vent”. I asked please.
The banter was light-hearted, but some suspected that Smith was secretly waiting for the right moment to remind Kerim the next time he called her about a topic not strictly related to the TV show. There is.
