Media personality Stephen A. Smith has criticised the protests, urging Democrats to find a deal with President Trump.
“What we've seen from them, it doesn't resonate.” Smith said Wednesday About “Honity” on Fox News.
“It's not working anymore. We haven't fallen for Oaky Dork and we're not buying what they're selling,” he said of various Democrats' protests in Trump's joint speech to Congress.
Smith asked the Democrats to “stoop and step up” as their members were sent to Washington to work with any administration, regardless of their political affiliation.
“I know I don't like the fact that Donald Trump is in office, but his name is Donald Trump, the 47th president of the United States. And like you said you have done nothing and nothing else, a man is going to make a deal,” he said.
“We'll find a deal he's happy to make and make it happen,” Smith continued. “Understand that.”
Smith denounced the Democrats, pointing out that he had no idea of himself, and wondered who came up with the form of protest in Trump's speech. Rep. Al Green (D-Texas) was escorted from the room after wrapping Trump.
Smith, a well-paid ESPN personality, has been talking more and more about politics and has not completely ruled out taking part in the 2028 presidential election after the brutal loss of the Democrats last November.
