Stephen Colbert Spreads False Information About JD Vance to Disparage VP as 'Crazy Spoiled Baby Emperor'

Colbert’s Mockery of VP Vance Raises Eyebrows

Stephen Colbert, host of the Late Show, recently took aim at Vice President J.D. Vance, calling him a “crazy, spoiled, baby emperor.” This criticism came after Colbert claimed that Vance had ordered an increase in river levels to facilitate a family boat trip on his birthday.

Colbert exaggerated his portrayal, even adopting a baby-like voice, saying, “This is a very crazy, spoiled, baby emperor move, and I have no choice but to break my new character, Widdle Pwin Vance.”

He continued his parody, expressing whimsical grievances like, “I also don’t like how blue the sky is. I paint it red!” before humorously demanding a “juice box” of his choice. The bit seemed to blend childish antics with pointed satire.

Returning to his usual persona, Colbert joked, “Netflix, Call Me, I’m available in June,” after momentarily assuming his character again.

He claimed that Vance requested a special river release from the Army Engineers for his birthday outing, suggesting that such requests aren’t typical unless under emergency conditions. “Of course, who doesn’t want a special release for your birthday?” he added sarcastically.

In response to Colbert’s jabs, Vance’s office condemned what they termed “left” and “fake news” for spreading what they considered falsehoods about the Vice President’s birthday celebrations with his family.

Will Martin, Vance’s communications director, criticized the media, saying, “I’m going down the street from my Ohio home with my wife and three young children on my 41st birthday and trying to turn it into a story about elitism.” He emphasized that the concept of ordinary family outings appears foreign to some media figures.

Martin further remarked, “The idea of families canoeing together is completely alien to them,” referring to the media’s portrayal of Vance’s actions. He lamented the persistence of misinformation and noted, “The far-left media seems eager to paint the Vice President in a negative light.”
