Stephen Curry impressed with his performance in the fourth quarter as the U.S. won the gold medal.
The Warriors guard outshot Victor Wembanyama’s massive 7-foot-4 frame with a 3-pointer to win the 98-87 victory at Bercy Arena on Saturday and capture the team’s first gold medal, its fifth consecutive, in a 98-87 victory.
A photo capturing the moment has gone viral online, with Wenbanyama, who is more than a foot taller than Curry, jumping to block the top shooter from aiming high above him.

Curry continued his strong performance in the fourth quarter, scoring nine points with 10 minutes remaining to secure his first gold medal.

The U.S. held a double-digit lead at one point, but a goal from Wenbanyama helped France cut the gap to three points in the fourth quarter.

However, just 10 seconds later, Curry answered with a three-point shot, eventually extending the lead back to double digits.
He made two more 3-pointers, including a miracle shot off a double team with just 35 seconds left, to take an even more comfortable lead.
Curry and his teammates celebrated the loss with gusto, many of them imitating Curry’s trademark “good night” gesture.
All 24 of Curry’s points came on 3-pointers, making 8 of 13 from three-point range compared to the nine he made in the comeback win over Serbia in the semifinals.

He also recorded five assists and one rebound.
Curry was excited to team up with LeBron James and Kevin Durant for what may be his final Olympics.
The four-time NBA champion and 10-time All-Star did not play in the 2016 Rio or Tokyo Olympics.
Curry, 36, chose to play in Paris because he will be 40 when the 2028 Olympics arrives.
But now he is facing an iconic moment that will go down in history.
