Stephen Curry tortured Houston Rockets More than any team in his legendary career. curry Golden State Warriors They removed the James Harden-led Rockets from the NBA playoffs in 2015, 2016, 2018 and 2019. That rebuild was a huge success leading Houston to the second seed in the West this year, but it was another matchup between Curry and the Warriors.
Golden State may have the seventh seed next to the first round matchup vs Houston’s name, but the Warriors were actually a few favorites heading into the series. It all came back to Curry and showed why he was one of the best players in the world at 37 when he lifted his team towards Team 1 victory.
Curry again destroyed the Rockets with a dagger with a dagger on his way to 31 points with a 5/9 shot from a 3-point range and with a 12-19 shot. The great shooter defeated the shot clock in the third quarter, over multiple backbreaking sles that were impressive even for him, especially his prone Jalen Green.
The curry shots looked incredible on TV, but this courtside fancam footage is even better. This is how it looks to watch Curry torture the Toyota Center’s Rockets again.
Let’s take a look at the shot from the broadcast corner. It won’t get any better.
That shot was truly the tip of the curry iceberg. See all the buckets from his Game 1 performance against the Rockets here.
The rocket had physical defenses with curry all night, but that wasn’t a problem. Houston used Amen Thompson to lock down Curry at the end of the regular season, but Golden State did a good job of releasing him from the ball in Game 1. Of course, it helps when curry is able to make shots other players don’t even think about what other players will try. Poor Jalen Green couldn’t prevent her from sprinting off the screen by turning curry into a bear hug curry in court.
Meanwhile, the Rockets tried to target Curry’s defenses on the other end. Curry was held defensively all night. Matchup tracking statistics should not be used as a Bible; Curry held the Houston player to four-sixteenth shooting as the primary defender of the night.
Houston fans have been watching curry well for the rest of their lives. Unfortunately for them, this new generation of rockets will need to defeat him four times in this first round series to keep the season alive.
