Knicks Fans Take to the Skies for Game 4
On Monday, excitement filled the air for Knicks fans.
Hours before the Knicks played the Cavaliers in Game 4, a video popped up on social media. It featured former Knicks player Stephon Marbury leading a chant aboard a plane heading to Cleveland, enthusiastically encouraging everyone with “Go New York, Go New York, Go!”
“After the game, we go crazy after the game, not before the game,” Marbury announced through the aircraft’s PA system.
As Marbury led the chant, the passengers couldn’t help but join in, their voices blending into a spirited chorus.
In another clip shared online, Marbury was seen engaging passengers with Knicks trivia, even rewarding the winner with a special Knicks-themed glass, which must have been quite a treat.
Marbury, who spent five seasons with the Knicks and saw the team in the postseason once, averaged 18.2 points per game in that time, starting 282 regular season games. It’s safe to say his enthusiasm for the team hasn’t faded.
As for Marbury’s flight to Cleveland, it certainly seemed like the Knicks had solid support for Game 4.
Fans showed up in force during Game 3 on Saturday, cheering as the Knicks secured a 121-108 victory, giving them a 3-0 series lead. Many fans found more affordable tickets in Cleveland compared to Madison Square Garden, seizing the chance to witness their team’s potential playoff success.
“As a born and bred New Yorker, it means the world to me to live and die for each shot,” Batraville shared after traveling from Miami for Game 4. “It’s been a long time since 1999. We’re ready for a revenge game against the Spurs,” he added.
The Knicks arrived for Monday’s game on a winning streak, having claimed 10 consecutive postseason victories, winning by an average of 22.5 points. It’s an exciting time for the fans and the franchise alike.
