Steve Bannon Alerts That Not Releasing Epstein Files Could Endanger GOP

Bannon’s Warning About Republican Losses

Steve Bannon, a former advisor in the White House, expressed concerns on Friday that the Republican Party could face significant losses if documents tied to Jeffrey Epstein, the deceased convicted sex offender, aren’t disclosed by President Trump’s administration.

Recently, a two-page memo revealed that the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the FBI found no proof of a “client list” or foul play regarding Epstein’s death, yet public skepticism remains. Bannon stated on his platform, “The failure to release information will cause the MAGA movement to weaken significantly, particularly impacting the Republicans during the midterm elections in 2026 and the presidential race in 2028.” He implied that a lack of action could lead to missing out on important electoral opportunities.

Bannon emphasized, “It’s not merely about the pedophile ring; it’s about the larger power dynamics at play. Ignoring this issue could mean losing a significant fraction of the MAGA supporters.” He estimated that potentially losing 10% could lead to losing 40 seats in the upcoming elections—a scenario he feels could play out more severely in 2028 if they aren’t careful.

Furthermore, Bannon called for the release of all documents related to Epstein during a recent discussion on his show. He suggested that the DOJ should seek a court order for the documents’ release or appoint a special advisor to oversee their dissemination.

Epstein was arrested in 2019 and faced sex trafficking charges but was found dead soon after in his cell, with officials claiming he hanged himself. However, the circumstances surrounding his death have fueled conspiracy theories, especially considering malfunctioning prison cameras and alleged misconduct by security personnel. An inspector from the DOJ later confirmed that several surveillance cameras outside his cell were not functional at the time.

Both Bannon and Tucker Carlson have speculated about potential connections between Epstein and intelligence agencies. Former Labor Secretary Alex Acosta previously suggested that Epstein had ties to such organizations.
