The Mets won the biggest game in history Thursday, and their big boss couldn't be more excited.
In a post on X hours after the Mets defeated the Brewers in Game 3 of the National League Wild Card Series, team owner Steve Cohen said the Mets' dramatic victory was like something out of a movie.
Pete Alonso hit a three-run homer in the ninth inning to give the Mets the lead, and Starling Marte's RBI single gave the Mets another run.
David Peterson, who had no saves in his MLB career, grounded into a double play to close out the game.
“How it turned out!” Cohen wrote in X magazine early Friday morning. “Hollywood couldn't write a better script. I'm so proud of this team. We're heading to Philadelphia.”

Cohen attended all three contests in the series and was also seen with former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie in Games 1 and 2.
After Thursday's clincher, Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor was seen excitedly hugging Cohen and lifting him off the ground.
The Mets will start the NLDS game against the rival Phillies on Saturday.
