Director Steven Spielberg spoke Monday at an event marking the 30th anniversary of the Shoah Foundation, criticizing the rise in anti-Semitic sentiment.
“Those who cannot remember the past are doomed to repeat it,” he said. report. “I am increasingly worried that we are doomed to repeat history, that we will have to fight again for the very right to be Jewish.”
He also accused the university of recent rampant anti-Semitism.
“We see every day how the apparatus of extremism is used on college campuses. Today, as many as 50 percent of students say they have experienced some form of discrimination because they are Jewish. The answer is yes,” he said.
Director Spielberg spoke about the role the Shoah Foundation has played in preserving the testimonies of Holocaust survivors. “We have fought against history repeating itself by celebrating the survival and vitality of the Jewish people,” he said.
As Breitbart News reported, U.S. college campuses have experienced an “alarming increase” in anti-Semitic incidents since October 7.
A recent survey also found that nearly two-thirds of American Jews feel less safe in America than they did a year ago.
