StopAntisemitism founder cautions Mamdani, stating NYC mayorship would be disastrous.

Liora Rez, the founder of Stopantisemitism, has voiced strong concerns about the potential election of Zohran Mamdani as New York City’s mayor. She described this possibility as “devastating” not just for Jewish residents but for all city inhabitants.

Rez expressed, “If Mamdani takes office, it will be severely detrimental for Jewish residents in New York City. We should also consider how his concerning views on socialism could worsen overall conditions for all citizens.” Mamdani has attracted criticism from various Democrats and media outlets for his refusal to denounce the phrase “globalization of Intifadas,” often associated with anti-Israel sentiments.

Rez, who started the organization in 2018 to combat antisemitism, highlighted Mamdani’s past involvement in protests against Israel, noting he has reportedly built relationships with individuals who hold radical antisemitic views. She stated, “Those who are worried about Mamdani’s antisemitism are completely justified in examining his history. There are numerous examples of his antisemitic actions that we can point to.”

Mamdani, a 33-year-old member of the New York State Legislature, is known for his contentious opinions regarding Israel. Notably, he has claimed he would be arrested if Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited New York City.

Questions about Mamdani’s stance on certain inflammatory phrases, like “River to River to Sea” and “Globalization of Intifadas,” were raised in a podcast earlier this month.

In a separate instance, former President Donald Trump issued a warning about Mamdani, asserting that if he failed to comply with federal immigration officials, he should be arrested. Trump’s remarks suggested he would closely monitor anyone he considered a communist within the country.

As of now, Mamdani has not provided a response to inquiries from news sources regarding these discussions.
