A 61-year-old straphanger was stabbed in the abdomen Friday afternoon on a train in the Bronx, a few blocks from Yankee Stadium, police said.
Police said the victim was riding the southbound No. 4 train shortly after 3 p.m. when he was stabbed once by another man at the 167th Street station near River Avenue in High Bridge.

Police said someone alerted NYPD officers at the post, warning them of the midday attack.
The injured man was taken to Lincoln Medical Center where he was listed in stable condition.
The stabbing suspect, described as a man wearing a black jacket, fled the scene but was not captured by evening.
The motive for the violence is still under investigation.
