The Knicks are taking over, at least for a little while.
In Manhattan, a street has been temporarily renamed to honor the Knicks, celebrating their impressive postseason journey. The team is gearing up to play its first Eastern Conference Finals at Madison Square Garden since 2000.
All 15 players on the Knicks roster are being recognized in this endeavor.
West 11th Street will feature a sign for “Jalen Brunson Boulevard” during the playoff run, while West 32nd Avenue has become “Karl Anthony Towns Square.”
Brunson’s sign, No. 11, will be prominently displayed at the intersection of West 11th Street and Seventh Avenue.
These temporary signs will stick around as the Knicks aim for their first NBA championship since 1973.

As Mayor Eric Adams stated, “The Knicks reflect the spirit of New York — they’re resilient, passionate, and unstoppable.” He continued, expressing that the city recognizes the effort and grit that brought them to this point, celebrating the team through these name changes, which allows New Yorkers to join in the excitement of Knicks pride.
The blue signs feature the player’s name in orange, along with their jersey number.
In related news, Madison Square Garden is hosting a watch party outside for fans to gather and celebrate the Knicks’ playoff games, creating a lively atmosphere on the streets following their victories.
