Prostate cancer is the most prevalent cancer among men, with the American Cancer Society indicating that one in eight men in the U.S. will face a diagnosis in their lifetime. Biden’s cancer has been assigned a Gleason score of 9, indicating a high-grade and aggressive form of the disease. Generally, Gleason scores range from 6 to 10, with higher scores indicating more abnormal cells and a greater likelihood of rapid growth and spread. Experts have noted that cancer categorized under this score is often referred to as “undifferentiated.”
Dr. Alantan, a leading specialist in the field, mentioned that while a Gleason score of 9 is concerning, understanding the full extent of the situation requires more advanced imaging like a PET scan.
