Adrian Peterson in Boxing Encounter
Former NFL player Adrian Peterson participated in a boxing match on May 27 at Jokerstars in Houston, Texas, as seen in footage obtained by TMZ Sports.
The video, shared by TMZ on Thursday, shows Peterson and another poker player exchanging punches.
Disturbing clips revealed that Peterson took several hits to the face but also managed to land some strikes on his opponent. By the end of the skirmish, both men were reportedly left with bloodied faces.
Interestingly, Peterson claimed to TMZ that his facial injury resulted from falling onto a chair rather than being punched.
He shared that the altercation arose from a disagreement at the poker table, which escalated quickly into a physical confrontation.
In the video, a man tried to break up the fight but struggled to separate them as they moved toward the venue’s wall and continued to trade blows.
While alcohol played a role in the evening, Peterson insisted it wasn’t the sole reason for the fight’s escalation and expressed a wish that things had unfolded differently.
“Me and the guy, we’re cool,” Peterson remarked, reflecting on the situation.
He described it as a miscommunication among acquaintances—like a brotherly disagreement where they simply ended up throwing some punches.
Peterson also conveyed regret about the incident, admitting, “I feel really bad.” According to TMZ, JokerStars did not take any measures against either participant, and sources stated that police were not called to look into the matter.
The identities of the other individuals involved in the fight remain undisclosed.
