Sturla Holm Läggried, a Norwegian biathlete, shared on Tuesday that she hasn’t been in contact with her ex-girlfriend since the surprising admission of an affair during the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics.
After securing a bronze medal in the men’s 20km individual biathlon, the 28-year-old athlete, who caught many off guard with her revelation post-race, mentioned to the press that she had “not gotten any reaction” from the person she spoke about. She expressed a hope that her remarks wouldn’t complicate things for her ex further.
“I’m relieved because it’s possible she hasn’t seen it yet. Maybe she will at a more appropriate time,” reported Rhaegreed, according to the Daily Mail.
“I hope I don’t complicate her situation. Perhaps this helps, but I really can’t say. We’ll just have to wait and see,” she added.
Following her bronze medal achievement, Läggried became emotional as she reflected on what she described as the “worst week of my life” after disclosing her infidelity involving an ex-girlfriend.
“I have something to share with those who might not have seen it today,” she stated during a conversation with the Norwegian network NRK. “Six months ago, I met the most wonderful person.”
“Three months ago, I made a huge mistake by cheating on my partner. A week ago, I finally told her. This last week has been incredibly tough for me,” she continued.
“I’ve won in so many ways, but I know not everyone sees it that way. Right now, my focus is on her. Sports haven’t felt as important these last few days. I really wish I could share this moment with her,” she remarked.

However, it appears that mending the relationship may be a long shot.
On Wednesday, just hours after Läggried opened up about her past mistakes, her ex-girlfriend spoke to Norwegian tabloid VG, stating that forgiveness might be difficult.
“I didn’t ask to be in this situation, and it’s painful to be here,” she shared anonymously. “We’ve had some communication, and he knows how I feel about this.”
Läggried has been competing in this year’s Winter Olympics, showcasing her skills as one of the elite biathletes globally.
Having secured six world championships, Läggried combines rifle shooting with cross-country skiing in her events. She made her Olympic debut at the 2022 Beijing Games, where she won gold in the men’s 4×7.5km relay.
