Subway customer allegedly struck employee with sandwich after it wasn’t cut in half

A Florida man is behind bars after a trip to a Subway restaurant didn't go as planned.

On Tuesday afternoon, Alberto de Barros, 54, drove to the metro in Stuart, a city of more than 17,000 people on Florida's southeast coast. After receiving his order, de Barros expressed his disappointment: “The sandwiches were not separated.” probable cause affidavit Said.

De Barros then proceeded to give a “gist.” exchange of wordsThe document says it worked with the employee who created it before engaging in other “disruptive” conduct. At that point, the employee informed Mr. DeBarros that he would no longer be working there.

Mr. de Barros did not leave the organization immediately. In fact, her affidavit states that while making a phone call to an unknown recipient, de Barros picked up a sandwich and threw it at her employee, hitting her “from the midsection to the lower body.” It is shown.

De Barros then apparently stormed out and left. The employee followed him with his cell phone and photographed his “demeanor” and license plate. She contacted the sheriff's office and the store manager.

Officers arrived at the scene around 5 p.m. and viewed surveillance footage, which appeared to corroborate the employee's version of events. A deputy who saw the video said DeBarros “swapped the sandwich off the counter and then hit the employee.” national desk report.

Deputies also went to Mr. de Barros' home to investigate the incident. According to the arrest report, DeBarros “admitted” to throwing the sandwich, but claimed he thought he threw it on the counter “on behalf of” the employee.

“The suspect was upset that his sandwich was not cut and due to the service he received, he called the store manager to try and resolve the issue,” the report added.

It is unclear what type of sandwich de Barros ordered.

De Barros was arrested and charged with a misdemeanor. He then posted $1,000 in out-of-custody bail. His arraignment is scheduled for February 1.

The New York Post has reached out to Subway for comment, but has not yet received a response.
