Subway Shooting in New York City

A man was shot and killed in the New York City subway on Saturday afternoon, as confirmed by police.

The incident occurred at the 53rd Street and 7th Avenue station, a bustling area in Midtown Manhattan, just after noon, according to the NYPD.

Hassen Pinchback, who is from Orlando, Florida, witnessed the shooting and described a chaotic scene where people began to run after hearing gunfire. “It was like a stampede,” he recalled.

Pinchback mentioned that when the train doors opened, the sound of gunfire erupted. He saw a woman performing chest compressions on the victim, encouraging him to “Hang in there” as they waited for help.

Another witness, identifying herself only as “Miller” from Washington state, shared that she and her daughter heard around five shots while seated in the subway car. Her daughter went outside, and in a chilling moment, the shooter looked directly at her before continuing to fire. “I just started praying. I’m a very strong Christian,” she said. “Jesus saved us. 100%.”

The witness’s daughter managed to signal a conductor on a nearby train, who then called 911.

The victim was rushed to a hospital in critical condition but sadly succumbed to his injuries.

Currently, the NYPD has not made any arrests, and the investigation is still underway.

Reports suggest that the shooting may have originated from an argument between the shooter and the victim.
