After all, it seems like married life alone isn't easy.
Influencer, model and Mariah Carey impersonator Suellen Carey, who made headlines last year when she married herself in a bizarre ceremony in London, has reportedly ended her marriage after nearly a year.
Reflecting on her decision to retire, Carey spoke about the difficulty of committing to oneself: mirror Reported.
“Knowing when to end the cycle is so important,” Carrey was quoted as saying. “Even commitments to yourself can come with challenges, like dealing with the expectation that you have to be perfect for yourself all the time.”
She added, “I realised that I was putting a lot of pressure on myself and it was draining me sometimes. I realised that even in marriage, it's important to accept our shortcomings.”
The 36-year-old, who was born in Brazil and now lives in London, said she had even gone to couples counselling to try to make her single-person marriage, known as sologamy, work.
But after 10 counselling sessions, she decided it was time to get divorced, according to the Mirror, and admitted she had felt lonely at times in the relationship.
“I realized that my solo marriage was a process of healing and self-discovery,” she continued, “but I also realized that personal growth could also lead us in different directions.”

Carrie, who has around 433,000 followers on Instagram, announced the marriage. September 21The bride, who was born on January 24, 2023, posted a photo of herself in a white wedding dress and said it was “one of the happiest days” of her life.
“Today, I cherish and love myself. I married myself here in London,” Carrie said. “This celebration is important because I have learned to prioritize my health and mental health. In my vows, I wrote and declared my commitment to cherish and value my self-love.”
Carey has also worked as a Mariah Carey impersonator, and had another breakout in 2019 when she was invited to a Mariah Carey look-alike party.
By 2022, she said she was making about $18,000 during the Christmas season.
Carey, who shares the same last name as the “Fantasy” singer, was first told she resembled the pop icon more than 10 years ago, when she began her gender transition at age 23.
“I've always been told I look like Mariah Carey, but I never imagined I'd be able to use that resemblance to work,” Carey said at the time. “It's been over 12 years since I began my gender transition, and a lot of people have told me I look like Mariah Carey.”
