Fashion can come with a price.
Suki Waterhouse recently shared that she ended up in the hospital due to a hernia, which she attributed to wearing pants that were just too tight. She tweeted, reflecting on how she possibly could’ve avoided the situation, remarking that she’d experienced the hernia about six months ago. The 33-year-old actress and singer expressed her thoughts on X.
In her tweet, she included two photos. The first showed her in a hospital bed in a gown, wearing earphones and a wristband, with a cannula visible on her arm. The second picture appeared to be from her Sparklemuffin tour, showcasing her against a backdrop of green leaves and disco balls, dressed in a white top and snug green pants.
Waterhouse responded to a fan who commented on her hospital visit, saying, “The steam in the hospital is devilish.” She replied, “As you said.”
As explained by the Cleveland Clinic, a hernia occurs when an organ pushes through the muscle or tissue that contains it, typically in the abdomen.
Despite the hospitalization, Waterhouse plans to perform again on August 8 at the Sky Music Festival in Aspen, Colorado.
Having released her second studio album, “Memoir of a Sparklemuffin,” last September, she subsequently hit the road for a three-month tour. She previously mentioned her desire for vibrant, sparkly accessories that tied into the album’s theme, saying, “I want to refer to the cutest things and be like, ‘I need to have it and it’s Sparklemuffin.’”
Besides her artistic endeavors, Waterhouse is also a mother to a one-year-old daughter with fiancé Robert Pattinson. In a podcast with Emma Chamberlain, she talked about her efforts to “protect” her child from the spotlight, noting her wish to take her daughter out for walks and to cafes while being wary of paparazzi. She acknowledged that, unfortunately, that could mean her child’s face might end up in a photo.
Waterhouse and Pattinson first crossed paths in 2018 at a party, but they’ve kept details about their daughter’s name under wraps.
