Costco’s New Summer Cake Creates Buzz Among Members
There’s a fresh addition at Costco this summer, and it’s sparking quite a bit of excitement. The Kirkland Signature Peaches and Cream Bar Cake has caught the attention of many members.
Launched in June, this cake features three layers of vanilla cake filled with peach compote and whipped cream. Topped with white chocolate curls and a luscious peach glaze, it’s priced at $18.99.
On Reddit, which is home to a large community of 1.3 million Costco fans, some have been sharing their thoughts and even suggestions for cakes. One user shared, “That’s a good thing! It tasted like real peaches, not just peach candy flavor. Plus, the frosting had a nice whipped cream texture.”
Another commenter expressed some nostalgia, saying, “It kind of reminds me of an Asian cake. It’s sweet and tart, just right for summer.”
“I was a bit concerned the peach part might taste artificial, but it really does capture that sweet tang of fresh fruit,” noted one reviewer.
A third participant labeled the cake as “very tasty and addictive,” mentioning they’ve already bought three this month. “It has a perfect mix of cake, whipped icing, and peach compote,” they added.
Jacquelyne Devine, a content creator from Pennsylvania, shared her thoughts too, stating it’s one of Costco’s standout seasonal desserts. “It feels like a great option for parties but is also enjoyable at home,” she remarked. Desserts vanish quickly in her household—“We devoured it in just a few days.”
Her family’s enthusiasm for peach-flavored desserts shines through. “I want to be buried in a cake made from these,” one ecstatic member said in a light-hearted comment. Others chimed in with reactions ranging from “Ah… I might actually buy this,” to “I’ll look for it! I love desserts that aren’t overly sweet.”
However, not every opinion was glowing. Some expressed that it could taste a bit bland due to uneven distribution of peaches. “The whipped cream filling felt somewhat artificial. Maybe a little soaking could help,” a discerning critic noted.
This cake is just one of many fresh products Costco has introduced this summer, which also includes a new Combo Calzone for $6.99, filled with a variety of toppings. Additionally, they’ve rolled out a Frozen Strawberry Lemonade Drink for $2.99, made with real fruit.
Costco continues to innovate its offerings, keeping members engaged and excited about new flavors.
