Who’s ready for another great vacation with the amazing cast of? Summerhouse: Martha’s Vineyard? Bravo spinoff summer house is back for its second season with mostly familiar faces. This summer, brand activation consultant Nick Arrington and lawyer Preston Mitchum return for more fun and drama. Arrington is busy starting his own consulting company, training to rerun all six of the world’s major marathons, and spending time with his girlfriend Tasia Monet Burrows. Meanwhile, Mitchum is busy with his own advocacy/impact strategy consulting firm after losing his father, relying on friends such as Jordan Emmanuel, Jasmine Ellis Cooper, and other housemates.
With their busy lives, Arrington and Mitchum were definitely ready for a vacation. When asked what he was hoping for after moving into a shared house, Mitchum replied, “I really want to enjoy it.” “In the beginning, there was more arguing than fun,” Mitchum said simply. A New Yorker, Arrington looked forward to “unplugging” and “just having a laugh.” “Our group laughs until our cheeks hurt,” Arrington said with a smile.
But what’s Summer of Friends without a little drama? The trip started with Emmanuel’s final “Tales and Tales” dinner. Her housemate Summer Marie Thomas revealed that she and Alex Tyree slept together. This should have been worth inviting her to his recent event in the city! “My first thought was, ‘Really, I’m doing this now,'” Arrington recalled. “At that point, we had been here less than 12 hours.”
Arrington and Mitchum both stopped by. page six studio We chat with DECIDER about the upcoming season, their wardrobes, and why Old Bay is a must for seafood boils.
The Decider: Returns for Season 2 Summerhouse: Martha’s Vineyard! What are your hopes and expectations when you return to the island for another vacation?
Preston Mitchum: For me, it was all about maintaining friendships and building on friendships that I already had. I really wanted to have fun too. The first time, there was more discussion than fun.
Nick Arrington: I live in New York City. It’s always busy, busy, busy, busy here. I was just looking forward to unplugging and to be honest I was just laughing. Our group laughs until our cheeks hurt. I love that moment. Laughter is good for the soul.
Humor is important and I’m really happy. Because, Nick, I thought you were incredibly friendly when the ladies showed you where you’d be staying in the summer house…in the basement.
NA: I know Alex doesn’t snore.Amir [Lancaster] When I’m really tired, I snore a lot. I thought it would be okay if I just went to bed first. But looking at the bigger picture, how can you complain? We are in this big house. I’m in the vineyard. I’m here with my friends. I’m blessed. So you see I don’t have an attitude. I was sure it would be resolved.
All you need is closet space.
NA: I can sleep anywhere as long as I have clothes on.

And Preston, the ladies made sure you got a secret bedroom upstairs.
NA: This person. can’t believe it.
How did it feel to have that space reserved for you?
PM: They looked out for me. That’s what I know. However, I don’t know if it was a victory in the end. My room got really hot. It was hot, but at least it was mine. That’s the one thing I cared about. Anyway, I was really happy. I don’t know how Alex missed it.
NA: Me too. He missed everything.
PM: It was right next to the dining room…
NA: He didn’t even open the door.
PM: Alex, thanks for missing it. It was really great and definitely maintained the relationships I already had with the girls.
Both of you have great style. What was your packing strategy for the trip?
PM: I don’t know if I carried it or not, but it made my luggage very heavy. I didn’t know what kind of event I would end up having, so I wanted to bring a lot of clothes. I brought a variety of shorts, pants, big pants, etc. I was in the era of useless pants. This summer I was looking forward to it because I upgraded my fashion quite a bit.
NA: I think I’m doing well this season.
Prime Minister: Thank you.
NA: I brought a lot of running gear, that’s for sure. I probably bought 3 or 4 pairs of running shoes and a bunch of tank tops, shorts, and crop tops. It is hot. Suits, blazers, jackets, loafers, sandals, drivers, cashmere, linen, cotton, silk. In other words…
And we could go on forever.
NA: And all the time. I brought a poncho in case it rains. “Is that a poncho?” I asked. It’s like, “It’s raining outside!” I brought a lot of clothes, but it’s what I said in the first season. It’s not expensive and it’s extensive. I agree.
that’s right. Speaking of events, the summer kicked off with Jordan’s “Tales and Tales” party. Do you know how much Old Bay Bria Fleming had in those pots?
PM: It certainly was. I’m from Ohio and she has lived in the DMV for 14 years. Therefore, Old Bay is a must. I have about 3 cans in my apartment right now. A must if you eat seafood. Now, amlodipine had a lot of salt in it, so more amlodipine was probably needed after that.
NA: Last summer, Bria surprised us all. Her homegirl can cook so I let her do her cooking and try not to get involved in it. She knew it would be fine.
PM: Well, whenever you think Bria has too much food or seasoning…I promise it’s just right.

Nick, you were just about to enjoy some seafood and pasta when Summer revealed at the dinner table that Alex was inside her. You had the facial crack of the century. What crossed your mind?
NA: My first thought was, “Are we really going to do this now?” At that point, we had been here less than 12 hours. We were here for 6 hours. I thought, “Is this the path we want to take this summer?” Now, let’s get down to business. “I just said, “We’re friends and family. If we’re going to talk about it, we’d better talk about it together.”
Another drama at the table was the tension between Jordan and Jasmine. Preston, since you’re close to both women, was it difficult to be in the middle of that conflict?
PM: You know, I never thought I’d be in the middle. I was a little more biased at this point, but we all know that. I understand what Jordan meant. Some of us had the realization that there was a difference between the jasmine we knew and the jasmine we saw last summer. For some of us, that made her a little distrustful. It was as if the person she had always loved was gone.
At that moment, Jordan didn’t really know how to trust Jasmine again and continue their friendship. He said the rest of the group said the same thing, but Jordan was more direct and honest. But at the end of the day, I just pray for them. they were really good friends.
NA: I think you need to understand why you became friends in the first place. We have friends we haven’t talked to in years. I went to a historically black college, so returning home is in my DNA. Some people may not talk an entire calendar or two, but during homecoming, it’s like no time has passed. That’s what I want for them.
PM: To be honest, I think that’s what they want for themselves. I hope they can get back together.
What are fans most looking forward to this season?
PM: Our friendships, our events, our fashion. There are many wonderful events such as Neon Party and Freaknik. There are so many great things for people to see. I’m really looking forward to seeing what viewers actually think.
NA: Hopefully, they will look at our event and think, “Wow! I would like to try something like that. ” We hope to inspire others to develop and enjoy their own friendships. At the end of the day, we’re just a group of friends having fun with each other. It just so happens that they do it on TV, with gorgeous Martha’s Vineyard in the background.
