SummerSlam 2025: Naomi keeps her Women’s World Championship title

Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky created a buzz among wrestling fans during their openers at WrestleMania 41 in April, alongside Bianca Belair. Fast forward to August, and Naomi joined the fray at the Women’s World Championships, marking the beginning of SummerSlam at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Naomi had previously competed in a title match against Ripley and Sky at Evolution in July, which was intensified as Ripley cashed in her Money in the Bank contract. This lead to a thrilling triple threat match for the championship at SummerSlam, to the delight of fans.

Naomi had long warned others in the locker room to tread carefully, a warning she took to heart for this championship match. Initially cautious about Ripley and Sky, she eventually seized control, launching strikes against both opponents. In a surprising twist, she even targeted Ripley directly, signaling her readiness for the challenge.

However, the momentum shifted quickly. Ripley and Sky retaliated, eliminating Naomi from the equation temporarily. With an acrobatic move, Sky attempted a high-flying tactic, but Ripley’s height put her at an advantage, turning the match in her favor.

Just a single Poionrana move was enough to regain some balance in the match. Naomi fought back, resisting pin attempts and delivering impressive strikes. As the action unfolded, Sky landed a spectacular springboard move, reclaiming the momentum.

With the three competitors pushing their limits, Naomi managed to take down Sky, but Ripley quickly surprised her with a headbutt and a follow-up move. She got a pin attempt on Naomi, but the match remained fiercely contested.

As Naomi and Ripley engaged outside the ring, Ripley executed a cannonball move, intensifying the action. Just when it seemed like Sky was gaining the upper hand again, Ripley slammed her with powerful moves and attempted another pin.

Naomi, not to be outdone, came back strong and used Ripley’s tights to secure a pinfall, much to Ripley’s frustration. Complaining about the unfair move, both competitors felt the strain of the match.
