SummerSlam 2025: Naomi talks about major triple-threat title match

WWE Women’s World Champion Naomi Set for Major Match at SummerSlam

WWE Women’s World Champion Naomi is gearing up for one of the most significant matches in SummerSlam history. She will defend her title against Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky.

Trinity Fatu, known in the ring as Naomi, secured her title opportunity by winning a Money in the Bank contract earlier this month during an Evolution event. She successfully pinned Sky, which led to her claiming both the championship and the spotlight.

As this will be the first two-night SummerSlam Premium Live event, Naomi is aiming to leave MetLife Stadium with the title still around her waist.

“I’m really excited. This is definitely the biggest match of my career,” Naomi shared in a recent interview. “At this point in my career, it’s amazing to be in the ring with two of the best female wrestlers, not just in WWE, but in the world.”

Feeling confident, she added, “I just need to trust myself because I’m the champion facing off with the best, which makes it a thrilling experience.”

Naomi’s journey from fan favorite to one of the roster’s antagonists has been quite the saga this past year, becoming one of 2025’s most talked-about storylines. There was even a memorable return, adding more tension to the mix.

The climax of her rivalry unfolded at WrestleMania 41, where they faced off for historic bragging rights in an unprecedented women’s title match. While Naomi was defeated by Cargill, she cautioned her opponents to tread carefully in the division.

Winning the Money in the Bank match and timing her title shot perfectly felt like a major milestone for her. “Absolutely, 1,000%,” she remarked when asked if seizing that opportunity was significant. “I definitely felt like I ‘glowed’ in that moment.”

She encourages fans not to miss out on SummerSlam this year, hinting at something special in store.

The two-night event is scheduled for Saturdays and Sundays in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
