Trevion Henderson is gradually making his mark in the Patriots’ backfield.

This rookie has been vying for attention as Rhamondre Stevenson faced some tough moments against the Steelers in Week 3. It’s kind of interesting, really, how that game unfolded.

Last Sunday, in a commanding 42-13 win over the Panthers, the touches between the two backs were somewhat balanced, though veteran Antonio still had several notable plays during the game.

It’s been a bit of a slow build, but Henderson is starting to show why the Patriots were so keen on him, using their second pick on the Ohio native.

In his recent performance, Henderson managed 4.6 yards per carry on his first touchdown, which came from just seven attempts.

He’s also been reliable in the passing game, consistently catching at least two passes in each of his four games so far. That’s impressive, right?

The Patriots currently hold a perfect record at 4-0, but this success isn’t really due to a strong run defense.

In fact, they’re allowing about 164.3 rushing yards per game, which ranks pretty high (or low, depending on how you look at it) in the NFL, just above the struggling Bears.

Last week, they gave up 189 rushing yards to the Saints—a team that hasn’t exactly dominated offensively, yet they won that game 31-19.

As the Patriots prepare for their match-up on Sunday night, oddsmakers seem skeptical about Henderson’s potential, setting his total yards at just 44.5. Is that a low bar or what?

But surprisingly, despite his limited usage, Henderson has exceeded that mark in three of his four games this season, including his last two.

So, there’s a thought: going with the over on 44.5 for Henderson’s rushing and receiving yards seems worth considering. It could be an interesting play.
