Wake up early? My cavapoo, Sebby, enjoys waking me up at dawn, so come rain or shine, we’re off to Streatham or Wandsworth Common by 7:30. It’s nice to be able to chat with other dog walkers.
What’s for breakfast? Sometimes my wife too [Kirsty] Make a stir-fry of bacon, eggs, sausage, beans, toast, black pudding, and tea. If not, we’ll have a snack until we eat the Sunday roast around 3 o’clock for her or 4 o’clock for him. Just me and my wife. My older daughter is in college and my younger daughter doesn’t get out of bed until 2pm.
Is Sunday growing? It was all about football. I played at school on Saturdays and then with my league team on Sundays. By 8am, my friends and I were in a small van heading to a godforsaken part of Birmingham to play on a muddy pitch covered in stone and glass. I was happy. Then I went home with some friends and my girlfriend’s mother cooked for everyone.
Is it Sunday morning now? Watch some episodes of colombo. Peter Falk is a genius and I love when the old star plays the villain. It takes me back to my childhood. And then the sports begin. F1 or a big soccer match. I have completely become a couch potato.
Late afternoon? The sports continue throughout the afternoon. Her wife will be braiding her daughter’s hair downstairs. I’m left to my own discretion, which is great. Maybe stop by the shed, prune some bushes in the garden, or cycle to Brixton and sneak a pint and sit outside and watch the world go by. Sunday is a luxury.
evening? Around 8pm, we plan to eat reheated roast beef and gravy with a glass of rum and watch a meaty drama.
Right before bed? My New Year’s resolution was to give myself a bedtime routine. When I go out, I often end up getting drunk and falling into bed. So I try to take care of myself. Wash your face, moisturize, and take a bath with Epsom salt. Then I go to the office for an hour and reflect on the week ahead.
David will be appearing on “The World’s Most Dangerous Roads” tonight on Dave at 8 p.m. Check out the latest updates on UKTV Play.”
