Watch the Chief Sepagles Super Bowl 2025 Battle in New Orleans on Sunday night:
Marquee Match Up
Eagles RB Saquon Barcree vs. Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spanuloro
This game could potentially result in two former Giants.
Berkley has not been able to stop this season since leaving New York as a free agent.
He rushed over a 2,005-yard franchise record in the regular season, finishing short of the NFL record. In the playoffs, he averaged 147.3 yards in three games with five touchdowns on 66 attempts.
Barkley needs 30 rushing yards to break the NFL singleseason record in the regular and postseason combined. It was held by Terrell Davis in 1998 for 2,476 yards. However, this is not about records.
“That's why me and my family decided to come to Philadelphia to get the chance to play in the Super Bowl, and we're here,” Berkley said.
Spagnuolo, 65, won the 2007 Giants and the Super Bowl.
He added three more to the Chiefs, establishing himself as one of the great assistant coaches in NFL history.
On Sunday, Spagnuolo will need to try and stop Barkley, who has been an unstoppable force all season.
“He makes them a little more dynamic, especially with the explosive plays,” Spagnuolo said. “He's so fast, I know what he can do when he breaks it.”
Four Downs
Chasing the goat: Patrick Mahomes has the opportunity to add another line to his legacy with the title of three peats and fourth Super Bowl.
The debate is furious about whether he can pass Tom Brady in the best conversation ever.
Brady won seven Super Bowls. Mahomes is only 29 years old, so he takes shots to cover that number.
Mahomes started slowly this season, but he finished strong. He threw 13 touchdowns without interception since the Chief lost to the bill in Week 11.
He had 177 yards and gave a touchdown against the Texans in the division round, 245 yards and a touchdown against Bill in the AFC title game.
Mahomes spent the week disregarding the legacy questions and saying he was focused on winning.
“You always want to leave legacy behind and imprint history,” Mahomes said. “But more than anything, you just want to achieve the goals you have with your teammates. When you start. [training camp]your goal is to win the Super Bowl. We know it's a difficult process. We know it's difficult for a week a week, but we're proud of how our guys went through the process. ”
Zebra: Three teams are attracting a lot of attention in this game.
Chief, Eagles, officials. The perceived favor the judge gave to Kansas City in the postseason became a big storyline.
Some are sure the NFL wants to make the Chief successful.
Others believe that they received a call because of Mahomes' Star Power, just like Michael Jordan made a call in the NBA in the 1990s.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell called the idea “silly” this week. That may be true.
But if there is a controversial call in the Chiefs' way, Monday morning conversations are about the judge, which will be a nightmare for the NFL.
It hurts very much: Much of this week's focus has been on Mahomes and his quest for another ring, but the other quarterbacks in this game are not overlooked once the game begins.
Jalen hurts He's in his second Super Bowl three years later, but he still feels underrated. Although Hurts did not have his best stats season, he threw five intercepts and had a career-high 103.7 passerby rating of the season.
“I've evolved as a player [and] As a leader. I have grown and learned from many different things,” Hertz said. “But in the end, the flames sparked even more in terms of desire to win and want to work to win. You can't bank just because you want to see results without work.”
Taylor and Trump: The Super Bowl is always more than a game. From commercials to halftime shows, there's far more going on than football alone.
This year, we hope that Fox cameras will take lots of shots from the luxury suite. We already know that two camera-loving fans are there.
Taylor Swift and Donald Trump both will be in the game and will certainly get plenty of face time.
Trump is the first president to attend the Super Bowl. Swift was one of the stars in the stands at the Super Bowl last year and will certainly be back as she cheers on her boyfriend, the chief tight end Travis Kelse.
