Super Bowl LX MVP Kenneth Walker skips Seahawks ring event to join the Chiefs

Seahawks Receive Super Bowl Rings, Walker Absent

The Seattle Seahawks celebrated receiving their Super Bowl rings on Thursday night, though one prominent player was notably missing. Kenneth Walker, who earned the title of Most Valuable Player, didn’t attend the ceremony.

Walker had an impressive performance in Super Bowl LX, racking up 135 yards on 27 carries, proving to be the standout offensive player during the game. This was especially crucial as he took on a heavier workload after Zach Charbonnet suffered a torn ACL in the NFC Championship game just two weeks prior.

However, there was a twist: Walker signed a three-year, $45 million deal with the Kansas City Chiefs just a month after the Seahawks’ victory. This meant he was the only champion who didn’t partake in the ring ceremony, which coincided with the Chiefs’ mandatory minicamp.

In the Super Bowl, Walker made quite an impact early on. By the second quarter, he had already joined elite company with multiple 25-yard runs. Although he didn’t get into the end zone himself, it was his consistent ground game that set up Seattle’s scoring opportunities, leading to a successful field goal by Jason Myers.

Walker’s 135 rushing yards tie him for eighth in Super Bowl history and mark the second-highest total in a single game, including playoffs. Interestingly, his expected rushing prop was around 70 yards, yet he surpassed that in the first half alone.

The Seahawks clinched their second Lombardi Trophy with a solid 29-13 win against the New England Patriots.

The rings celebrate the team’s 50th season, adorned with 50 white diamonds around the logo, a fragment of the game ball inside, and a detachable topper that can double as a pendant.
