Super Bowl LX: Patriots' Drake Maye reviews his wife's baking recipes

Drake Maye Talks About His Wife’s Baking Before the Super Bowl

New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye recently shared a charming moment during a Super Bowl media session. He was asked to rank his wife Ann Michael’s popular baked goods that she showcased on TikTok over the season. During the “bakemass” holiday surge, her recipes gained quite a following.

Maye, gearing up for the big game in Santa Clara, confidently picked his favorite dish. “I just made cinnamon roll snickerdoodles for the O-line this week,” he said, clearly pleased. “That’s my number one.”

After a moment of consideration, he continued, “I think I’d put Puppy Chow at number three. The pistachio bread, well, not really my thing—let’s put that at four. And the crumble imitation sugar cookie? Definitely number two.”

With so much pressure surrounding the upcoming game against the Seattle Seahawks, light-hearted questions like these might just lighten the atmosphere for the Patriots.

Reflecting on tradition, Maye mentioned how baked treats might impact team morale. After all, who could forget when Donna Kelsey surprised her sons, Jason and Travis, with cookies before their Super Bowl? A little taste of home can work wonders.

Outside of his wife’s baking fame—she has over 200,000 followers on TikTok—Maye praised her creativity. “She’s on this little baking kick, which is just fantastic. I always enjoy whatever she makes; I even bring leftovers to work,” he shared. “Her support has really helped me adjust to life here.”

As the spotlight is on him, Maye noted the mixed bag of his performance this season. Even as an MVP candidate, he’s had a few inconsistencies on the field. He’s completed under 59% of his passes in the last three games, but with four touchdowns and two interceptions, he’s still in the running.

With perfect weather expected for the game, Maye is hopeful for a solid performance against the Seahawks, who boast a formidable defense.
