Support for Bill Gates subpoena grows among both parties due to connections to Jeffrey Epstein

Bipartisan Support for Subpoena of Bill Gates by Congresswoman Nancy Mace

A bipartisan group of lawmakers is rallying behind Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-N.C.) in her push to subpoena Bill Gates, co-founder of Microsoft. Mace’s concerns stem from ‘sick’ allegations associated with Jeffrey Epstein—claims that Gates’ ex-wife, Melinda Gates, indicated need addressing.

This conversation comes amid congressional efforts to manage the release of a staggering 3.5 million files connected to Epstein. Mace stated, “I did write a letter. [Chairman James Comer, R-Ky.] Today, I ask you to subpoena Bill Gates,” during a recent interview.

“Epstein sent emails discussing sexually transmitted diseases and possibly various relationships, which raises many questions,” she elaborated, acknowledging she’s not definitively accusing Gates of wrongdoing but expressing a desire for clarity.

Rep. Robert Garcia (D-Calif.), the top Democrat on the committee, also voiced support for the idea, hinting that more developments could be forthcoming soon, though he refrained from providing specifics.

Mace’s request comes after a fresh batch of documents was released by the Justice Department, which comply with the Epstein File Transparency Act. Lawmakers are currently finding it challenging to sift through the vast collection of data, as they consider how to effectively target the most pertinent subjects.

“After seeing Melinda Gates on NPR last night, I’m quite troubled. I need to ask Bill questions regarding his connection to Epstein,” Mace remarked, noting that Epstein’s files suggest he may have helped Gates conceal sensitive issues during his marriage. In one email, Epstein claimed Gates sought help dealing with an STD and requested the deletion of related messages.

Gates has refuted any allegations of misconduct, and his foundation hasn’t commented on Mace’s request for the subpoena.

Calls for Accountability

Rep. Byron Donald (R-Florida), who is also part of the oversight committee, backed Mace’s push but emphasized the need for a structured approach in deciding who should be called to testify given the overwhelming number of documents and names involved.

He expressed that there isn’t a clear formula for such decisions but highlighted that certain individuals warrant more scrutiny, including former President Bill Clinton, who has a deposition scheduled for later this month due to new photos linking him to Epstein.

“Given Bill Clinton’s status, these developments should prompt some congressional action,” he said. Hillary Clinton is also set to testify before the committee shortly.

Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-Ill.) suggested that internal processes might be underway to determine witness interviews, although he didn’t reveal specifics. Meanwhile, Rep. Jim McGovern (D-Mass.) expressed openness to calling witnesses as necessary to uncover the truth.

“Everyone involved needs questioning,” he affirmed, criticizing the committee’s reluctance to push for full transparency. McGovern highlighted his attempts to release related files, reiterating the need for clarity in these proceedings.

As of now, Comer hasn’t indicated his stance on Mace’s subpoena request or when additional action related to Epstein may occur.
