GoFundMe Campaign for Victim of Fatal Shooting Surges

A GoFundMe campaign for Renee Nicole Good has quickly exceeded its $50,000 target, raising over $764,000 in less than a day following her fatal shooting by an ICE officer—an incident described by officials as “an act of domestic terrorism.”

Good, 37, reportedly blocked a road with her vehicle during a protest against ICE in Minneapolis. When approached by agents and told to get out of her car, she reversed and then surged forward, prompting an officer to fire. Tragically, Good was struck and later pronounced dead from a gunshot wound to the head.

The fundraising effort was initiated on the day of her death to provide support for her family, including her wife and their three children, aged 15, 12, and 6.

“Renee was pure sunshine, pure love. She will be desperately missed,” reads the fundraiser’s description.

Supporters have contributed roughly 19,700 donations, including a notable $10,000 from philanthropist Carlos Eduardo Espina.

In response to the incident, DHS Secretary Kristi Noem claimed that Good’s actions constituted an assault, stating, “It was an act of domestic terrorism.” She described how Good allegedly tried to use her car to run over law enforcement officers, necessitating the officer’s defensive action.

“An officer acted quickly, shot to protect himself and others, and my understanding is she was hit and is deceased,” Noem added.

Following the shooting, large protests erupted in Minneapolis. Mayor Jacob Frey expressed strong disapproval of the federal immigration officials present, dismissing claims of self-defense by the officer involved.

In a press conference, Frey used expletives to urge ICE to leave the city immediately, contending that the presence of more than 2,000 DHS officers for an immigration operation exacerbated tensions.

Vice President JD Vance commented online that Good had not been randomly targeted but was instead obstructing a lawful operation, which led to the confrontation. He maintained that the officer had to act in self-defense as she accelerated toward him.

“A tragedy? Absolutely. But a tragedy that falls on this woman and all of the radicals who teach people that immigration is the one type of law that rioters are allowed to interfere with,” Vance concluded.

Mass protests and strong reactions continue to reverberate through the community in the aftermath of this tragic event.
