Katie Porter Faces Backlash Amid Support from Allies
Katie Porter, a Democratic candidate for governor in California, is currently navigating political turbulence following the release of a video that has drawn considerable attention online.
In the video, Porter becomes visibly frustrated during an interview with a reporter, nearly calling it quits. This footage, dating back to 2021, features her telling a staffer to “get out of my job” after an unexpected interruption. The moment caught on camera has certainly stirred some controversy.
Despite this, the Teamsters California union has reaffirmed their support for her gubernatorial bid. Co-chairs Peter Finn and Chris Griswold publicly stated last month that they are prepared to mobilize their resources to help Porter succeed in her campaign.
The momentum seems to be growing. A statement given to Fox News Digital mentions that support for Porter has intensified recently.
Finn and Griswold emphasized the need for strong leadership, arguing that, at this pivotal time, the country doesn’t require just cooperation or establishment politicians but rather those willing to confront challenges head-on. “We need strong leaders like Katie Porter who accept the status quo as it is and are willing to stand up and fight for everyday Californians,” they asserted.
Another notable supporter is California Congressman Dave Minn, who has backed Porter in the past and continues to advocate for her gubernatorial aspirations. He referred to her as a “warrior” and praised her understanding of the issues facing working families in the state.
Tiffany Mueller, president of End Citizens United, endorsed Porter as well, describing her as “one of the toughest, most honest leaders I’ve ever met.”
It’s worth noting that this is the third video featuring Porter to spark discussion within a week, including a tense interaction over studio lighting.
As of now, Fox News Digital has reached out to Porter’s campaign but has yet to receive a response.
