Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s New Ad Campaign
The Lone Star Liberty Pack, a group backing Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, rolled out an advertisement on Friday aimed at promoting his efforts in the ongoing constituency battle in the state.
The ad, titled “Ken Paxton Notifies Democrats in Texas’ Constituency Release War,” features clips from mainstream media discussing the situation involving state officials and Paxton’s responses, celebrating him with the endorsement from conservative media figures. It also includes a photo of Paxton alongside President Trump, although Trump has not yet voiced his support for Paxton in his clash with Senator John Cornyn.
The Hill was the first to report on the release of the ads.
This ad follows Cornyn’s announcement that FBI Director Kash Patel has agreed to assist state and local law enforcement in tracking down a Texas Democrat who left the state to hinder partisan constituency efforts.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott posted on X, mentioning that the FBI is “tracking” the missing Democrats.
Initially, Paxton criticized Cornyn’s request for FBI intervention during an appearance on Steve Bannon’s “War Room” podcast, referring to it as “a purely state issue.”
However, he later expressed a more open attitude in a statement to The Hill, indicating he would welcome FBI involvement in the fight over district representation.
“I fully support utilizing all possible methods to ensure a quorum and to hold accountable the lawless Democrats who are abandoning Texans, including the use of federal authorities like the FBI,” Paxton remarked.
On Tuesday, he also mentioned plans to seek a judicial order regarding the matter.
“The people of Texas elected lawmakers, not jet-setting runaways seeking headlines. If you don’t show up for work, you’ll get fired,” he commented.
Additionally, Paxton stated that his office is investigating whether a political group affiliated with Beto O’Rourke is violating laws by “raising funds” from out-of-state lawmakers.
