Response to Charlie Kirk’s Death Sparks Controversy

On a recent episode, host Sarah Gonzalez expressed her sorrow over the passing of Charlie Kirk, noting that he was a “good man” whose admirable qualities will be missed. She reflected on how he was, in her opinion, a significantly better person than herself.

But there was something troubling about the left’s response—filled with vitriol, accusations, and slander. Gonzalez raised a critical question: “How did we arrive at this point, where a 22-year-old, who seemed to come from a good family and earned a scholarship while attending a public university in Utah, could be killed?”

She observed the reactions from a college campus in Texas and noted, “Yeah, it’s no wonder we find ourselves in this situation.” She referenced videos from UT Austin, where students expressed their thoughts on the shooting.

In one instance, an interviewer asked students how they felt about Kirk’s death. A female student candidly remarked, “Girl, someone had to do that. That’s how I feel at this point.” Another young woman added, “I’m trying not to draw everything into this, but he was a misogynist. He was a disgusting person with disgusting beliefs.” When asked if she would prevent his assassination if given a chance, her answer was a flat “No.”

Gonzalez found these reactions disheartening. “What are the reasons parents keep sending their kids to these indoctrination camps?” she questioned. Referring to her video, she noted how some students appeared almost joyful upon hearing the news of Kirk’s murder. “It makes me sick to my stomach to see that kind of joy from young people,” she lamented.

She concluded, “These individuals have their entire lives ahead of them, yet they’ve already chosen hatred and evil.” It’s a troubling insight into the current climate among students in higher education today.
