2028 Presidential Race Polls
Recent polling suggests that Vice President J.D. Vance (Republican) and former Vice President Kamala Harris (Democrat) are leading the field of potential candidates in their respective parties for the 2028 Presidential election.
These polls show Harris at 37% and Vance at 38%. Secretary of State Marco Rubio follows closely behind with 18%, while Don Jr., President Donald Trump’s son, stands at 10%.
Rubio has expressed his intention to support Vance if he chooses to run, but it seems Don Jr. is less likely to enter the race. If you combine Rubio and Don Jr.’s numbers with Vance’s, it totals to 66% of Republican support leaning towards Vance, indicating a strong majority.
This week, President Trump commented on the dynamics of a potential Vance-Rubio ticket, saying, “They have a strong relationship and share many qualities. If they team up, they’re quite formidable.”
He added, “It’s tough to compare JD and Marco to the lesser minds on the other side.”
Earlier reports noted that Harris, who lost to Trump in 2024, might consider another run in 2028. In a February polling average, she had a 27.5% approval rating among likely Democratic primary voters, placing her ahead of California Governor Gavin Newsom, who stood at 22.7%. Others trailing include Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez at 9% and former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg at 8.7%.
Ocasio-Cortez has mentioned that her ambitions extend beyond a presidential run in 2028, but there are indications that she may still be eyeing the opportunity.
