'Survivor 49' contestant Annie Davis replies to her teammates' harsh remarks

Annie Davis has sustained injuries within her “Survivor” tribe.

Speaking to the Post following her elimination in season 49, the 49-year-old musician acknowledged that she overlooked some “negative things” said behind her back by Jeremiah Ing and Sophie Barredi.

“I’m basically in charge—I run a company and I’m the frontwoman of a rock band. But, you know, it all comes from a place of love,” she said.

“I knew coming into this that I’m not the strongest or the smartest. I’m just a 50-year-old woman. People already see me as an outsider. But I’m capable of hard work—I can contribute physically, whether it’s building shelters or foraging for food,” she elaborated.

When she overheard the others label her a “dictator,” it was disheartening. “I was never trying to boss anyone around,” she added.

Davis also addressed Sophie calling her “Karen” during the competition. “It’s strange because we actually know each other outside the game. I thought, ‘It’s so odd to hear that from someone like you.’ You’re definitely not the typical ‘Karen,'” she remarked.

Upon viewing the first episode as a group, she recalled that the whole cast found it amusing when Sophie labeled her that way. “Everyone laughed. In that moment, it was kind of funny,” she shared.

“Ultimately, it’s just a game. No one knew anyone going in. It stings a little, but it also offers some laughs,” Davis concluded.

“Survivor” airs on CBS every Wednesday at 8pm ET.
