Suspect Arrested for Breaking into Los Angeles Mayor’s Home

A suspect was arrested Sunday morning after allegedly breaking into Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass’ home “through a window.”

Deputy Mayor for Communications Zach Seidl issued The statement confirmed the break-in occurred around 6:40 a.m., adding that the mayor and his family were “safe” and uninjured.

“This morning at approximately 6:40 a.m., an intruder entered the Getty House through a window,” Seidl said in a statement. “Mayor Bass and his family were not injured and are safe. The Mayor is grateful to the LAPD for responding and arresting the suspect.”

Captain Kelly Muniz, Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Chief Spokesperson Said of Los Angeles Times It added that the unidentified suspect was being processed in the afternoon and it would be several hours before additional information about the arrest could be released.

Muniz confirmed Bass was home and nothing was stolen.

Bass’ home was broken into in September 2022, and the then-mayoral candidate said two guns were stolen from the residence.

Breitbart News reached out to the Los Angeles Police Department for a statement, but did not receive a response in time for publication.
