Police in Texas have arrested a man suspected of kidnapping a 12-year-old girl who was missing for eight days until she was safely found.

Sarterion Preston, 27, of Houston, was charged with fleeing authorities after attempting to elude police on Friday, the Columbus Police Department announced on social media Saturday.
The girl was last seen getting into a pickup truck in the city on February 22nd.n.d.According to reports, the Houston Police Department issued an alert alerting the public to her whereabouts.
Around 12:40 p.m. Friday, authorities discovered the 12-year-old girl being sought in an Amber Alert was located in Columbus, about 144 miles west of Houston.
After the girl was identified, authorities said she was taken to Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston for evaluation.
Preston is being held at the Colorado County Jail while the FBI investigates, according to Columbus Police.
Additional charges may be filed against him.
