Janius, wearing this “wild” clothing, was handcuffed. And it wasn't by the fashion police.
Police have placed a collar on one of several suspects wanted for allegedly breaking into a building. Nudie Jeans Repair Shop (Bowery 188) Saturday morning near the corner of Spring Street in Soho.
Officers from the NYPD's 5th Precinct descended on the trendy store at 7:15 a.m., reviewed police camera footage and took a man believed to be a “lookout” into custody, a department spokesperson said.
In the video, “you can see him waving at them, and they're actually using the hydrant cap to break the glass,” an NYPD spokesperson said.
Incredibly, when the police arrived, the apparent guard was still standing across from Nudie Jeans. His attempts to blend in literally failed.
Sharp-eyed officers recognized him from surveillance footage and arrested him.
A witness to the arrest told the Post that the suspect's “snazzy sweatsuit ensemble” was “a really wild look that really set him apart.”
Police did not immediately release the suspect's name and charges are pending, the NYPD said.
Several others remain on the run. It was not immediately clear how much merchandise was taken.
