The suspect in the murder of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson reportedly began shaking when police approached him in Altoona, Pennsylvania, and asked if he had been in New York City.
Breitbart News reported that 26-year-old suspect Luigi Nicolas Mangione was arrested at a McDonald's in Altoona on Monday.
According to the Associated Press (AP), Mangione said,It started tremble when police asked him if he had been in New York recently. ”
CNN pointed The criminal complaint against Mangione notes that Mangione was “wearing a mask and beanie” and staring at his laptop when two officers approached him at McDonald's. When the officers asked Mangione if he had ever been to New York, Mangione “became quiet and started shaking,” police said.
When the officers asked him for identification, he allegedly gave them a widely publicized fake ID from New Jersey. Breitbart News reported that Mangione used a fake New Jersey ID to check into a New York City hostel days before Thompson was killed.
CNN observed Pennsylvania State Police Lt. Col. George Bivens suggested that Mangione had been in Pennsylvania for “several days” before his arrest.
Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, a Democrat, said Mangione “traveled between Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, making stops along the way.” One such stop was Altoona, where he was arrested.
