Suspect in University of Georgia Campus Murder Not a U.S. Citizen

The suspect in the murder of 22-year-old Laken Riley on campus at the University of Georgia (UGA) has been identified as Jose Antonio Ybarra, but he is not a U.S. citizen.

Breitbart News reported that Riley, a student at Augusta University’s College of Nursing, was found dead on the UGA campus on Thursday.

CNN I got it. UGA Police Chief Jeff Clark emphasized that Ybarra has an “extensive” criminal history.

Clark also noted that although Ybarra lives in Athens, he is neither a UGA student nor a U.S. citizen.

fox news Quote Clark said, “We do not know the details of his situation at this time. He is not a U.S. citizen.”

Former New York City Police Department Inspector Paul Mauro told Fox News:

The perpetrator’s legal status is unknown, but if the Secretary’s statements are accurate and he is a Venezuelan immigrant who could potentially be recognized under a continuing “special status” program, then we recognize the obvious fact. It’s past time: Mr. Maduro has taken a page from Mr. Castro’s book and is letting criminals flee to the United States, and we are holding the door open for them.
