A Michigan man suspected of running over an 80-year-old man with an ATV in a politically motivated incident has been found dead in an apparent suicide, according to reports.

The 22-year-old suspect was found at his home on Monday with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound after calling police and attempting to confess. According to WLUC.

“Somebody come get me,” the unidentified suspect told officers, who responded to his Quincy home and found him deceased.

The suspect was seen riding around town on an all-terrain vehicle and attacking cars displaying pro-Trump signs.

He was wanted in connection with a string of vandalism incidents that left an 80-year-old man seriously injured on Sunday afternoon.

The suspect attacked an elderly man who was putting up a pro-Donald Trump sign in his garden, first driving around at high speed on an all-terrain vehicle and ripping it down.

When the victim attempted to replace the sign, the suspect ran him over with the ATV and fled.

Prior to the vicious attack, the suspects had smashed car windows and slashed tires.

Hancock Police said all of the vandalism and attacks were politically motivated and appeared to target people holding signs supporting Trump and law enforcement.

The 80-year-old victim remains in critical condition.

“We don’t know what’s going to happen. Is it possible that he will die from these injuries? It’s a possibility,” Hancock Police Chief Tami Sleeman told WLUC.
