A 21-year-old woman was killed and eight other people were injured in a shooting outside a large house party in Dallas early Sunday morning. Detectives believe the shooting was gang-related.
Dallas Police say officers first responded to a shooting in the 4500 block of Collins Street around 11:10 p.m. Saturday and found a large crowd from a party ending nearby moving into the street. That’s what it means.
The gunfire had stopped by the time police arrived, and no one was injured at that time. Several police officers remained nearby monitoring the crowd.
Police said more shots were fired around 1:35 a.m., this time hitting nine people in the crowd of about 45 to 50 people at the time.

Seven women and two men were rushed to a local hospital by paramedics and a private vehicle. A 21-year-old woman, identified as Corisha Bradford, died at a hospital, police said.
The remaining eight adult victims had non-life-threatening injuries and were expected to survive.

A preliminary investigation revealed that one person began firing into the crowd before the others fired their weapons.
Investigators believe gang involvement was involved in the shooting, but further details have not been released.

Dallas Police Chief Eddie Garcia said he has ordered an internal investigation to determine whether the department could have passed the initial report differently.

“Although a preliminary investigation indicates that the responding officers did not observe any criminal activity in the area at the time, this incident ultimately had a tragic outcome,” Garcia said. . “Our homicide detectives are currently working to determine who was involved in this incident and how.”
