The Medina County Sheriff’s Office reported on Wednesday that they have arrested three individuals in connection with a burglary that took place in November at the residence of Shedur Sanders, a rookie quarterback for the Cleveland Browns.
According to a press release from the sheriff’s office, investigators were able to identify not only the three individuals who broke into Sanders’ home but also the driver of the getaway vehicle. While three suspects are now in custody, one remains at large with an active arrest warrant.
The incident happened on November 16, 2025, around 6:46 PM. Surveillance footage revealed the suspects entering and leaving the home from multiple entry points.
Authorities noted, “The suspects, masked and gloved, were seen exiting the residence around 6:58 PM with various stolen items, totaling approximately $200,000.”
A report by Officer Charles Johnson detailed how the suspects rummaged through a bedroom, searching nightstands and closets while using cell phone flashlights. They left the home with several bags before disappearing into nearby woods.
Interestingly, while this was unfolding, Sanders was on the field making his NFL debut against the Baltimore Ravens.
In a response to the press, Sanders tried to maintain a positive outlook, saying, “Honestly, I’m in a mental space right now where I don’t think anything is too upsetting. And anyway, none of my jewelry was taken. So, it just slipped. That’s what happens.”
This incident highlights a troubling trend as other NFL players, including Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, have faced similar situations involving burglaries during games.
Last season, Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce were also victims of a robbery, with four individuals arrested afterward. Authorities even shared images of the suspects posing with stolen items.
