Suspects in the San Jose antisemitic attack posted disturbing videos with guns

Three individuals have been charged in connection with a violent incident targeting two Israeli-Americans at a diner in San Jose, which is being investigated as an alleged hate crime. The suspects, Ramon Acoyans, 18, Roman Acoyans, 20, and Brunil Chamaki, 32, turned themselves in to law enforcement about a week after the event, which took place outside the upscale Augustine restaurant.

The attack, occurring in broad daylight, was caught on video, depicting the suspects in black T-shirts repeatedly striking one of the victims on the ground. Authorities revealed that the victims reported the use of anti-Semitic slurs during the assault.

Social media posts showed the suspects brandishing firearms, including semi-automatic rifles. In one video, Ramon was seen firing his rifle, while another clip featured a person holding a sign stating, “I am an Assyrian soldier currently serving the Assyrians in this sector,” though the context of this sign remains unclear.

Roman Acoyans is a West Valley College graduate, and Ramon is currently a student at San Jose State University, with one of their LinkedIn profiles now gone.

Chamaki has also shared a video appearing to show himself shooting an assault-style rifle at a range. According to LinkedIn, he graduated from UC Berkeley Law School in 2022 and previously worked in law before establishing his own practice, Assyrian Advisors.

The suspects seem to have connections within the Assyrian community, as various posts depict them together at shooting ranges and other social events.
