Suspended Jewish professor who criticized pro-Hamas radicals required to undergo re-education to return to Columbia

This week, Columbia University announced the temporary suspension of Shai Davidai, an Israeli-Jewish assistant professor at the university's business school.

Blaze News previously reported that Professor Davidai joined the Ivy in April after pro-Hamas protesters set up a large encampment on the main campus where he teaches. He received a temporary suspension from a school in the league.

On Tuesday, Davidai posted: × He said he was again barred from Columbia University after an exchange last week with Cass Holloway, the university's chief operating officer.

On the occasion of the commemoration of the October 7 massacre, Mr. Davidai joined pro-Israel and Jewish students in hosting two memorials on campus. It included a memorial service with art installations, speakers and songs.

However, the memorial was interrupted by a large group of partially or fully masked pro-Hamas activists, who surrounded Jewish students who stood silently holding Israeli flags.

Video of the pro-Palestinian demonstration showed hundreds of people marching through the campus, blocking the flow of other pedestrians and cyclists.

Activists shouted: ”one solution,” and “The resistance is great! We will win!”

“They first circled the area where a Jewish memorial service had just taken place,” Davidai said. “They then stopped the march and protested just outside the memorial art installation. They were sending a clear message. They are protesting against us.''

Davidai said that while the Jewish students who organized the Oct. 7 memorial service “followed every rule in their textbooks,” the masked pro-Hamas activists “blatantly disobeyed the rules.” “Ta”.

The professor posted a video of himself confronting Holloway as he walked around campus as protests continued.

“Hate happens when people like you are indifferent,” he told Holloway.

In a statement to new york timesColumbia University confirmed that Davidai had been suspended for “repeatedly harassing and threatening university employees in violation of university policy.”

The news organization said the suspension will not affect the professor's employment or salary.

The school said Davidai could only return if he had “received appropriate training on the policies governing employee conduct.”
