Swiss Army Knife to release a new multi-tool without a knife

The maker of the iconic Swiss Army knife has announced the launch of a new multitool without a knife.

However, the new version of the tool does not replace the original Swiss Army Knife, which has a classic design that includes a toothpick, tweezers, nail file and knife blade, and is sold for $24 on Victorinox’s website.

Victorinox’s upcoming tools are only expected to complement the classic Swiss Army knife, Elsner told Brick.

Still, Victorinox, which also makes watches, kitchen cutlery, and travel goods, makes about 45,000 Swiss Army knives every day and ships them to more than 100 countries around the world.

It was the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks that made Victorinox realize that it “must not be dependent on a single business area,” Elsner told Brick.

Knife regulations have been tightened in the wake of the World Trade Center attack. Elsner told the Swiss outlet that sales of the company’s pocket knives have fallen by more than 30% as a result.

However, Victorinox has a version of the Swiss Army knife designed for nail care called the NailClip 580, which includes a nail file, nail clipper, tweezers, and serrated blade scissors. This pocket tool also includes a small blade and retails for $38.

The more expensive Huntsman Tools costs $52 and includes both large and small blades, as well as nifty gadgets like a corkscrew, can opener, screwdriver, wood saw, and wire stripper.

It was not immediately clear when a bladeless version of the Swiss Army knife would be released.

Representatives for Victorinox did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.
