Archaeologists have unearthed an ancient sword believed to have belonged to the army of the Egyptian Pharaoh who helped Moses free the Israelites in the Old Testament, authorities said.
The bronze weapon was discovered at an excavation site in the Hosh Issa area of Beheira governorate in northern Egypt, according to the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities. said In a press release dated September 4th.
A recent archaeological expedition led by Dr. Ahmed Said El Qaradri of the Supreme Council of Antiquities discovered “a series of mud-brick buildings including barracks for soldiers and weapon, food and larder rooms dating from the New Kingdom.”
Numerous historical artefacts were also found, including swords that once belonged to soldiers who lived in the barracks.
