Sidney Sweeney Expresses Support for Brother and U.S. Troops
Actress Sidney Sweeney shared a heartfelt message on social media wishing her brother, who serves in the Air Force, well as he begins his deployment overseas. This comes amid the backdrop of many U.S. soldiers undertaking perilous missions in the ongoing conflict with Iran.
The 28-year-old also extended her gratitude to all soldiers stationed abroad, stating, “Thank you for your service,” in a touching post on Wednesday.
“When my brother is deployed, I’m always happy to get a call from him,” Sweeney noted, adding a personal touch while promoting her new lingerie line. She included a screenshot of her brother Trent, smiling in uniform during a video call.
The snapshot captured a moment of connection as the call concluded, with Sweeney beaming back. She wrote, “Thinking and sending love to all the boys and girls overseas! Thank you for all you do :).”
Trent, who has been with the Air Force Ammunition Squadron since 2020, was recently promoted to Staff Sergeant in August 2025. He has been deployed multiple times since then, but it’s unclear if his current assignment is related to the conflict with Iran.
About 3,000 U.S. troops have been sent to the Middle East, though their potential combat involvement remains uncertain. President Trump has stated he’s not ruling out deploying American forces inside Iran.
Tensions escalated in the conflict after Israel targeted Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei in a missile strike on February 28. This week, Iran swiftly dismissed a 15-point peace plan just hours after discussions hinted at a resolution to their nuclear ambitions.
While Sweeney’s stance on the conflict isn’t explicitly stated, her social media tends to focus on her personal projects. However, last summer, it became known that she is a registered Republican, which garnered her some praise from the president.
Her brother’s views seem to have influenced the family’s political tendencies. In 2022, during their mother’s birthday celebration, images showed family members, including Sweeney, donning MAGA hats—a moment that sparked discussions among liberal circles in Hollywood.
Sweeney is known for her close bond with her brother. Last summer, she faced criticism when some accused her of having questionable affiliations over her campaign work for American Eagle, but she defended her family loyalties in a 2023 interview. “I love my family. I love where I’m from,” she remarked, emphasizing her commitment to stand by them in any situation.
